inthefade: So this is how you spent September 11, 2010? You, who preach about hallowed ground and respect for the dead? You, who base your opposition to a community center on honoring those who died on 9/11? This is how you spent the day. You held up signs with drawings of planes crashing into buildings. You spewed hatred, bigotry and ignorance. You wore shirts that said things like “waterboard instructor” and you shouted slogans that were meant to hurt.   You did this all in the shadow of ground zero, on the ninth anniversary of the day those you purport to speak for died. You weren’t remembering the dead. You weren’t respecting anyone. You weren’t holding the hands of those who survived or consoling those who lost loved ones. You weren’t bowing your heads in silent prayer. You were using the day for your own ugly purposes.  You call this honor and respect? You are hypocrites. All of you.
